Well, he’s closer to 13 months now but the big birthday has passed. We had a lovely day with him and took tons of photos of him and the mountain of presents the lucky boy got. We’ve just about found homes for them all when he goes to bed but we have an ark and a barn that remain out all night lol.
On Tobin’s birthday we started off here opening our presents, had a play with them all then popped out to see Auntie Kay, we popped out for something to eat then came back home for Birthday cake. Tobin actually managed a huge slice and ate some of Daddy’s, made a bit of a mess but it was a nice idea of Paul’s to let him have it and get as messy as he liked, I’m just hoping he remembers that when my birthday rolls around!
Later in the afternoon we went for a walk around the park and took Tobin on the playground. We got home and had a visit from Grandad Hayhurst and Auntie G with yet more presents. We got to bath time and we tested out the new bath boat that Auntie G had bought which is still a big hit now.
We’ve had a few illness’ since last blog. Tobin has had a bit of a cold and at the minute has a cough and runny nose, I took him to the doctors in the week with a suspected ear infection but he’s ok it’s just to do with his cough and nose so he’s on calpol for now. Probably his teeth, we have a tooth!!!!!! Finally one has come through, he’s been grizzly for so long and nothing appeared so I’m hoping they come through quick and the poor lad can have a break. We’ve had his 12 month injections, well the first part. We’re back in a few weeks for more but he was very good and hardly cried at all.
I couldn’t and still can’t believe a year has passed but I couldn’t imagine life any other way. I constantly wonder what I did with my time before I had Tobin and how I ever complained of having no time.
I’m very pleased to report that my exercising has paid off and I nw weigh less than I did when I got pregnant. I was amazed and am very proud of myself, having never stuck to a diet or exercise routine strictly but I had some great support and was lucky enough to have a child who goes to bed at a decent time and stays down and a boyfriend with an Xbox 360 and a PS3 to keep him happily out of the way while I jig around the front room sweating buckets.
So we approach winter and Christmas again. It will be nice this year as Tobin will be more aware of everything and am sure is looking forward to be the centre of attention, as usual.
