Year end round up

Well, it’s time to count up the years makes and wins and see how I did.
I’m amazed at the crochet progress with 42+ projects. I haven’t counted all of the scarves (pesky scarves) so most of these 42 are amigurumi items and I’ve actuallly made two blankets this year. Many more blankets to follow in 2015!
I have challenged myself or should I say I have been challenged to try new projects that to be honest I didn’t think I could do.
My favourite items of the year are probably the African flower items I made, hippo, giraffes, huge stegosaurus and let’s not forget the big pink blanket!! For sheer ‘I can’t believe I did that’ I love the Dalek and Tardis, boy were they testing!
The comping side of things has been quieter this year with fewer wins and smaller prizes but I can’t complain. I believe my total stands at 21 wins (I haven’t blogged about one because it’s been put away for a birthday present). One of my favourite prizes was the cake kit set because the cakes we made were amazing and kept me and Tobin entertained through the summer holidays.
We had a good year with the boys, a lovely holiday at the beach. A couple of days out at Twinlakes and lots of fun and new experiences for the boys who are growing so fast it scares me!

On the whole this year has been good I think. I’ve certainly had worse years and we are all well and happy so I can’t really ask for more. I have happy boys, the fiance who is still a fiance because the wedding I’ve been growing my hair for two years for still hasn’t happened and lots of wool. What more could a girl need?
I hope you have all had a good year and if not I’m glad it’s coming to an end for you. I wish you all the best for the New Year! Be kind to yourself, be kind to each other and make something beautiful (borrowed from the lovely Maja of the Sjomajlin podcast and no I’m not drunk, the spelling is correct she is Swedish).
