A restful weekend

So relaxed

So relaxed

Yes, Valentine’s weekend was a nice peaceful one enjoyed by the whole family (or at least I think so).  We managed to get the boring shopping out of the way a day early leaving us plenty of time on Saturday to relax. I was treated to a delightful breakfast in bed but our walk in the park was postponed due to a supposed parcel delivery that never came! We complained at the time it was boring however, on the weekends we do go out and have plenty to do we wish for a boring weekend…no pleasing some people I guess.

So after a very restful day and plenty of playtime with Tobin me and Paul settled down to a nice film complete with new smelly candles, it was a really nice day.

We finally got our walk around the local park this morning after a wake up call from Tobin at 2.50am, then 3.00am and so on until after a nappy change and many trips out of bed for both me and Paul, he finally decided to go back to sleep. We get the random early mornings with Tobin, not many but when they come they really throw us out, we’ve got used to be lucky.

Tobin just takes it all in

Tobin just takes it all in

After the walk and another bottle for Tobin we went to see his Grandad and Auntie Nic. He made sure he got a good quota of cuddles and got bounced around much to his amusement plus he admired Grandad’s fish again. He loves those fish and Grandad keeps saying he’ll get him a fish tank of his own, we’re slightly less enthusiastic but that’s just us being grumpy.

On the whole, this weekend has been very enjoyable. I got to spend time with my two favourite boys and it feels good to play with tobin together and have him interact with both of us. Most nights because of cooking and general housework it tends to be one or the other of us watching him while the other does the necessary. Bath time is always a joint affair but with that we need as many hands as possible to control the splash machine he becomes once in water!
