Such a good day!

When Tobin met Minnie!

When Tobin met Minnie!

Today has been a really good day, nothing spectacular happened but me and Tobin have had a great time together and its become apparent how much he’s coming on.

We had a leisurely start at about 7.40am (after I thought he was going to stay awake after his Dad went to work), had a bit of a play around before getting him changed and ready for breakfast. After a short morning nap we went for a walk around the block in the glorious sunshine, now for anyone who knows me I’m not a sunny kind of girl but now I can’t wait for summer and playing outside with Tobin (I’m not mad honest!)

Smiler!

Smiler!

I thought as Tobin was in such a good mood that I’d get the camera out and see if I could actually get a non-blurred smiling photo…you’ll never guess what.. I did. I think he’s got over his curiosity about the camera and looks at me now and laughs and smiles whereas before it was always a case of “what’s that you’re waving in my face?”

As the lounge was bathed in sunlight, I let Tobin have some nappy-free time on the rug which he seemed to really enjoy and then it was time for dinner which he sat very nicely for while I made a salad for me and a bottle for him. Once we’d both eaten it was getting on for afternoon nap time and I decided I wanted to try him in the cot. So far, all we’d managed was a few short stays in it while the mobile was going but no actual sleep. After a quick sheet change and lots of junk sorting (the cot has been up for what seems like forever now and had accumulated a lot of crap on it!)

First sleep in the cot

I laid him in the cot, gave him a toy and left him to it while I tidied up the aforementioned junk. Another bag of “too small” clothes later and I was just getting on top of things and Tobin was starting to get sleepy. I watched him drift off which was brilliant and immediately came running downstairs to text my other half to tell him how grown up his little boy was. I got on with some housework while he slept and about half an hour later I heard him wake up. He does usually sleep a little bit longer but I can’t complain as it was his first time in the cot. I felt so proud of him, I’ll try and get him to have his afternoon naps in the cot from now on as he’ll soon be at the point where the moses basket is no good for nights (he pretty much fills it now bless him).

I don’t know why today seems to have been so nice, we pretty much do the same thing most days but Tobin seems to be growing and showing me and his Dad something new everyday and I love it.
