I’ve been busy making some Frontline Bears by Yarn It, Darn It and these will be donated to some local children who’s parents are keyworkers.
The book I bought can be found here (amazon affiliate link)
The lovely folk I mentioned and thanked for making such lovely content are;
Angela – YarnNYarns
Karaline – Colourful Creativity Vlog apologies if I’ve spelled your name wrong!
Denise – Deer Designs
Jackie – Hooking in Good Company
I also watched a fairly new YouTuber this morning called the Bogan Crafter, she made me smile so please go and check her out!
Hi I’m making some of the Frontline bears and was wondering how come the ones I’ve seen on YouTube are a lot bigger than the pattern I have for it. Can anyone tell me if there is a larger pattern or can you tell me the way to make them bigger? I’m not an accomplished when it comes to crocheting so any help would be most welcomed.
Many Thanks
Julie
Hi Julie, hope you’re staying safe ann well. What weight of yarn are you using? I made mine with Red Heart Super Saver which is a 4 Worsted weight yarn so they came out bigger than they would if I were using a 3 weight DK yarn. I just had these colours left in Super Saver and thought they would look good. I haven’t seen another pattern for these bears so I would say using a thicker yarn (you could possibly hold the yarn double) would be the best way to increase the size. Be sure to use a hook that makes a tight fabric for amigurumi as you don’t want the stuffing escaping. Hope this helps and apologies for the delay in replying xxx
Hi. Thank you for getting back to me. I am using a worsted weight yarn as suggested in pattern I think. Is this an American pattern as your wool weights are a bit different to the English weight wools. If I were to use a chunky yarn to make the bear bigger what needle do you suggest? Sorry for the questions but I’m self taught and not used to gage sizes๐๐. Hope to here from you soon
Many Thanks
Jules.
